Our Legal Paternity Test is the most recommended option when official, court-admissible results are required. This test is strongly advised when the child is under the age of 18. Results can be used for a wide range of legal purposes, including birth certificate amendments, child support matters, and other court proceedings.
Deceased Alleged Father
If the alleged father has recently passed away, testing may still be performed using an FTA blood card or other preserved DNA samples. These samples are typically collected by a coroner or funeral home. Please note that additional fees apply when using DNA samples from a deceased individual. Results from this testing may be used for legal matters such as survivor or government benefit claims.
Unavailable Alleged Father
If the alleged father is incarcerated or has been deceased for an extended period and no DNA sample is available, a Grandparent DNA Test may be conducted. If one or both of the alleged father’s parents are available for testing, paternity can still be established with legally admissible results.
The Non-Legal Paternity Test is designed for individuals who wish to confirm paternity for personal knowledge only and do not require court-admissible results.
If the alleged father is unwilling or unavailable to participate:
DNA testing may still be possible using personal items such as a toothbrush, eating utensils, toothpicks, or fingernail/toenail clippings. These items can sometimes provide sufficient DNA for analysis.
Appointments can be scheduled online or by phone. Once booked, you will receive a confirmation email from the testing center administrator. All parties must attend the appointment with valid government-issued photo identification (required for individuals 18 years of age and older).
During the appointment, DNA samples will be collected using a simple cheek swab. The samples are then sent to an accredited laboratory for analysis. Test results are typically available within two (2) business days and will be provided by email or reviewed in person at the office upon request.
If the alleged father is under the age of 18, consent from a legal guardian is required prior to testing. The legal guardian must accompany the minor to the appointment and provide written authorization permitting the test to be conducted.
The guardian may be required to present valid government-issued photo identification and documentation confirming their legal authority to consent on behalf of the minor. Without proper consent and documentation, testing cannot proceed.
For confidentiality and security reasons, test results are not disclosed over the phone. Results will be provided via email or may be collected in person by one of the authorized parties involved in the test.
If preferred, an appointment can be scheduled for an in-office results disclosure. This option allows all parties to be present and provides an appropriate setting should mediation or counseling be required.
We are committed to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality for all clients. No information regarding your case will be disclosed to any third party without your explicit authorization.
All communication will be conducted in accordance with your specified instructions to ensure your privacy and comfort throughout the testing process.
If you need to reschedule your appointment you must do so within 24 hours of your appointment.
